‘Spectacular’ restaurant in vision for La Vallette
A ‘SPECTACULAR’ restaurant and a spa/sauna complex at La Vallette is among the ideas put forward by The Fuller Group in a submission for the area’s development.
The group’s ‘expression of interest’ document sets out to regenerate and enhance the area from Octopus to the pools.
It is intending to partner with local business to develop its ideas and to ‘facilitate and operate a much improved outdoor leisure experience’.
The proposed 200sq. m. restaurant and an indoor and outdoor sauna and spa complex would be built overlooking the pools, replacing the existing kiosk.
The ‘promenade’ area at La Vallette could have development comprising restaurant/cafe, retail and tourism offerings, with a studio office and workshops on the first floor and residential units – self-catering and local market – on the upper level.
And there would be a recreational hub of activity including a sculpture playground, zip wire, treetop-style adventure area, petanque, water sports and a floating inflatable water park.
They would also like to see an outdoor cinema and theatre overlooking the pools.
A public/private company could be formed to oversee the development, with the States contributing freehold land to the La Vallette Development Corporation, with the cost of the public facilities being met by the corporation.
Under the group’s vision, the States would be a partner/shareholder in the development entity and would benefit from any commercial gains.
