Town traffic on go slow as seven roads closed

TRAFFIC is being disrupted around St Peter Port as seven roads are closed and the problems are set to continue.

Trinity Square will be closed for two days from 9am today as resurfacing work on Rue du Pre continues.

‘The works area finishes by the pedestrian crossing between Trinity Church and the Britannia,’ a Traffic & Highways spokesman said.

‘As a result, traffic will not be able to pass between Le Bordage and Trinity Square or vice versa during this closure.

‘Access to Pedvin Street will be via Lower Hauteville, with Pedvin Street being temporarily two-way until works are completed.’

The road has been closed for just over a week, but there was disruption in the area before that due to temporary traffic lights.

Tower Hill is one-way, as are Les Gravees and Les Amballes.

Candie Road is closed until Monday for mains work carried out by Guernsey Water.

But King’s Road will re-open tomorrow after pedestrian warning lights have been installed on behalf of Elizabeth College.

Les Echelons is still closed until Sunday for window repairs to Credit Suisse.

Market Street is closed until 3 May for street enhancement.

The Oberlands and closed due to reopen on Wednesday 17 April.

n Outside of Town, work has been scheduled for later this week near schools, which will be on holiday.

Rohais de Bas, Castel, is closed from Thursday for a week, while Baubigny Road in St Sampson’s, is shut for two weeks from Thursday, as is Guelles Road in St Peter Port.
