Saltpans could see extra 150 homes
MORE than 150 homes could be built on a site in the Saltpans, according to a draft development framework, which has just been published.

The area is at the eastern end of the Saltpans, close to the Bridge. The former horticultural site is already designated as a Housing Target Area.
According to the framework, which aims to show how a site could be developed, between 84 and 154 houses could be created on the 2.8 hectare site. However, the numbers could vary depending on the design of the project.
‘This density range reflects the proximity of the site to the Bridge and the potential good standard of vehicular access onto La Route du Braye,’ a statement from the Development & Planning Authority stated.
A framework has also been released for Quantock Cottage – a 0.27 hectares site in the L’Islet local centre.
Between five and eight houses could be created on the site.
Comments on the plans need to be submitted by Tuesday 28 May.
The draft development frameworks can be accessed via the States of Guernsey website at www.gov.gg/developmentframeworks or from reception at Sir Charles Frossard House.
