The popular Meet the Pilots event comes for the 13th time ahead of the Guernsey Air Display on Thursday.
Those wishing to attend can park for £2 per car at Guernsey Aero Club and head to the apron to the west of the control tower, with the gates open from 2-5pm.
Event organiser Gary Elson said unfortunately due to funding shortages suffered by the main display this year, there will be fewer aircraft on the ground compared with normal.
However there will still be plenty to see.
‘Aurigny’s Junior Joey and the Air Scouts’ Jet Provost cockpit will be available for the children to jump into, as will the ever-popular airport fire truck.’
The event will also feature some of Thursday’s display teams including the Cheeky Champ Aeronca, the Muscle Pitts, the RV8s of Team Raven and the Bader Bus Company flown by disabled pilots in modified PA28s.
Mr Elson said there will also be a children’s competition to mark the centenary of aviation in Guernsey where children can build a model or paint a picture of a flying boat.
Ravenscroft has again sponsored the event and marketing and PR executive Katrina Bray said the competition last year was fantastic, with lots of children entering.
‘The organisers have done an amazing job in bringing together aircraft and vehicles to create a line-up which will allow adults and children alike to learn more, speak to the pilots and gain a better understanding about aviation and its history in the island.’
The event is free and all donations will be invested back into Guernsey Air Display to ensure the display can continue for years to come.
Mr Elson said every donation, large or small, makes a difference.
