Paraglider rescued from the cliffs by new inshore lifeboat

A PARAGLIDER was rescued from the base of the south coast cliffs yesterday, after having to ditch.

The new inshore lifeboat was called out at 4.25pm on its first shout.

The paraglider ditched at the base of cliffs at Mont Herault. The all-weather boat was tasked with supporting the inshore boat.

The inshore boat arrived on the scene at 4.53pm. The casualty and another person on scene were recovered and transferred to the all-weather boat.

Both vessels arrived back at St Peter Port at 5.30pm, with the casualty being transferred to the Princess Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
