Moores bar closed following kitchen fire
A KITCHEN fire has closed the JB Parker’s bar at Moores Hotel until further notice.
The fire broke out at around 7pm on Saturday.
Two water tenders were dispatched at 7.12pm and the firefighters spent about 45 minutes on the scene.
A hotel spokesperson said it was a small fire.
‘Consequently JB Parker’s will now be closed until further notice while the exact cause of this is being investigated and repairs are carried out,’ they said.
‘We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Guernsey Fire & Rescue Service and the Guernsey Police for their very prompt and professional response to this incident, and in particular the way they dealt with our residents and guests who had to evacuate the building.
The Hideaway, Conservatory Restaurant and hotel will remain open for business as usual.
The bar, which was formerly known as the Library Bar, underwent a £1m. refurbishment just over a year ago.
