That average figure includes the salaries of the principals and all senior members of staff, such as curriculum leaders and house leaders.

The figure is revealed in the business case document which the Education, Sport & Culture Committee released on Monday prior to a States debate beginning on 4 September.

Specific salaries of senior staff are not shown in the business case because that part of document has been redacted.

As part of the overhaul of States’ schools it is not expected that there will be an increase in teachers’ salaries, or an increase in support staff salaries.

It is also assumed that each full-time teacher will teach 19 one-hour periods per week, but that is not including lunch and tutoring responsibilities.

Under Education’s preferred model, the length of the school day will be 8.30am till 4.05pm for three days a week, and 8.30am till 3.05pm for two days a week.
