Now halfway through its sixth year, the event at the White Rock cafe raised money for this month’s charity, Headway Guernsey, through donations and sales of items such as cars.

Host of the evening, Greenman MC member Jason Rostron, was delighted with the turnout and by the donations that were made to charity.

‘The only reason it works is the amazing support we get month after month by the great biking community of Guernsey.

‘We are so proud and amazed with the amount we raise,’ he said.

The evening, in partnership with Millards bike shop, raised £550 in two hours for Headway Guernsey.

The local charity supports islanders and their families living with the long-term effects of a brain injury.

‘We have in total raised over £12,000 so far [overall for different charities] and fingers crossed may it continue for many years,’ said Mr Rostron.

‘We have dedicated parking for motorcycles from the roro ramp to way down the harbour towards the roundabout and each month we get a few hundred bikes turn up and many people who don’t even have bikes come down to socialise and kindly donate.’

The social evening for bikers happens every second Wednesday of each summer month from May until September from 7pm till 9pm at the White Rock Cafe.

Among the items sold on our behalf of Greenman and Millards this month raising money for the charity, was a boat, car, a PlayStation 4 and even a fridge.

‘It’s crazy but fantastic how much people care.

'We have had Zef’s [Eisenberg] jet turbine bike, Allen’s [Millyard] v10 Viperbike, down to a humble scooter or a Citroen 2CV car that has been converted into a motorcycle, all are welcome.’

The next bike night will be held on 11 September and will be the last one of the year.
