Condor charters aircraft for foot passengers
CONDOR has chartered a private plane to get passengers from Guernsey to Jersey today, after a week of disrupted travel.
Condor Liberation, which operates between Poole, Guernsey and Jersey, has been sailing on reduced power while engineers replace her main fuel pumps.
The work was due to be finished yesterday.
But it appears to have overrun.
The company has not given a firm date for when the replacement work will now be completed.
‘We hope to be on full power soon,’ a company spokesman said.
As a result of running slower, the vessel will today be operating on a revised schedule, meaning it will stop at Jersey first, before coming on to Guernsey.
‘In order to accommodate disrupted foot passengers travelling from Guernsey to Jersey on Friday 6 September, Condor has secured a private airline charter,’ the spokesperson said.
The flight will depart Guernsey at 1.30pm today.
Anyone wishing to transfer on to the flight needs to contact the company.
Poole passengers travelling on the ferry to Guernsey will depart the Dorset coastal port at 9.15am. But rather than arrive in Guernsey at 12.15pm, they will not get to St Peter Port until 4.15pm.
The Guernsey to Poole service is scheduled to depart 30 minutes late, at 4.55pm, but arrive 90 minutes late, just before 9pm.
