If you missed the what's on section in Saturday's and Thursday's papers, here's a rundown of what not to miss this weekend.

Friday evening:

Guernsey Community Art Festival launch party at the Gate House Gallery at 6pm followed by drinks at St James at 7pm. Free entry, full details at www.stjames.gg.

Jazz evening with the Swinging Statins, traditional jazz from the 1920s and 30s at St Stephen's church from 7.30pm.

LGBTQ+ charity Liberate's Rainbow Choir involving singing and movement. They meet most Friday's at the GTA University Centre, St Peter Port at 7.30pm. All details can be found on the Liberate Facebook page or email hello@liberate.gg.

Saturday:

Starsailor singer/songwriter James Walsh plays an intimate solo gig at the Fermain Tavern, with all profits from ticket sales going towards the charity Headway Guernsey.

Guernsey Rabbit and Cavy Club show at St John's church hall from 9.30am until 3.30pm. Free entry.

Island Language LBG is holding the official book launch of The Gruffalo in Gueresiais from 10am until noon at the Guille-Alles children's library.

Train rides at Sausmarez Manor, St Martin's from 10am until 4.30pm (and Sunday).

The DolFin Project are running a boat survey from 4.30pm until 7pm, meeting at the Model Yacht Pond. Entry is £15 per person - to book email dolfinproject@outlook.com or call 07781 441151.

Magic and the Musicals at Beau Sejour theatre at 7pm, all tickets £12 available from the box office on 747200.

Collectors and vintage fair at the Vale Douzaine Room from 10am until 4pm.

Proms in the Square at Market Square from 7.30pm until around 10.45pm. Tickets are £5 on the gate, cash only - under 14s go free.

Sunday:

Lihou Treasure Island family fun afternoon from 1.30pm until 3.30pm, includes secret pirate code treasure hunt, digging for gold, games and walk the plank. Raffle at 3pm.

10 walks, 10 weeks, 10 parishes for dogs and their owners - more information on www.wag.org.gg.

Candie Gardens concert from 3pm until 4pm. Stephanie Coombs will be performing (in the theatre if it is wet).

Sport on Saturday:

Rangers v.s St Martin's at St Andrew's from 2pm.

Rugby friendly, Vikings vs. Brighton Blues at Footes Lane from noon.

National Three London and SE Premier - Raiders vs. Brighton at Footes Lane from 2.30pm.
