One of the main commuter routes into Town from the south of the island is shut for two weeks as Les Friteaux is being resurfaced.

The diversion is Les Merriennes, La Grande Rue, Route de Sausmarez, Fort Road, Colborne Road and Ruettes Brayes.

Bus route 81 will be affected.

It is scheduled to reopen on Friday 11 October.

Part of Braye Road is closed for a month, between the Crossways junction and Braye Road Industrial Estate.

Work is being carried out by JT to extend its network.

‘As part of our long-term strategy to ensure our customers benefit from an enhanced network, upgrades to the current infrastructure are required and these improvements do sometimes involve road closures,’ a JT spokesman said.

‘In this case, a partial closure of La Route de Braye is planned until Friday 25 October.

‘During these dates work will take place six days a week, between 7.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday and 7.30am to 1pm on Saturdays.’

‘We have worked with the Traffic and Highways Services to minimise traffic disruption and where we can, we always try to co-operate with other utilities to time works to minimise inconvenience for the public,’ the spokesman said.

Vehicles will be diverted up Route Militaire and then along La Ville Baudu and Sohier Road.

Access to the industrial estate will be from the Bridge end.

Bus routes 12, 13, P2 and N1 will be affected.
