This has resulted in delays to some of Aurigny's services.

A Gatwick spokesperson said: 'Gatwick would like to apologise to any passengers who have been affected. We are working hard to return the airport to a normal schedule.'

Aurigny announced that due to the repairs, they have some air traffic slot delays.

Departure times from Guernsey to Gatwick have now been revised for the GR606 service, which is now scheduled for departure at 4.30pm, and the GR608 service, which is now scheduled to depart at 5.26pm.

In turn, this means that departures from Gatwick to Guernsey will also be affected.

The revised times mean the GR607 service is scheduled to depart from Gatwick at 5.55pm and the GR609 is scheduled to depart at 7pm.

An Aurigny spokesperson said: 'We haven't been given any information on any further delays to our Gatwick schedule, but we will update [our Facebook] as soon as more information becomes available.

'We apologise for any inconvenience caused.'
