Boy seriously injured in crash
A TEN-YEAR-OLD boy suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car yesterday afternoon [28 October].
The incident occurred at about 1pm in Croft Lane, Vale, next to Sous Les Hougues Estate.
The St John Emergency Ambulance Service attended along with a number of police officers and the lane was cordoned off while the incident was dealt with.
After the boy was taken to the Emergency Department, police collision investigators, vehicle examiners and other officers stayed on the scene for some time.
Senior investigating officer Inspector Tom Marshall said the lane would be closed for some time and the vehicle, which had sustained some damage to its front, would be taken away.
‘Clearly we are now trying to establish the circumstances of the collision,’ he said.
‘If anyone has any information about it or witnesses the collision we would like them to contact us.’
The road was reopened at about 5pm.
Anyone with information can call the police station on 725111.
