Dog attack latest: animal escaped from owner's property, police confirm
A DOG which attacked three people escaped from a property near Saumarez Park, police have said.
The attack itself took place in Ruette de la Tour, which runs alongside Home Farm opposite the park.
The force had initially reported five people and two dogs were injured in the incident at the park, but have since updated that information.
'Initial enquiries indicate that the dog escaped from the owner’s property and proceeded to vicinity of Saumarez Park,' a spokesperson said.
'Initially we were led to believe it was in the rear car park to Saumarez Park. The attack took place in Ruette de la Tour, Castel.
'After attacking a dog and three people, the dog was restrained by members of the public in Ruette de la Tour. Upon the advice of the States vet, firearms officers dispatched the dog to neutralise the threat it posed to the public and first responders. We remain in contact with the owners and there have been no arrests.'
