Aurigny's 8.25am service on G-VZON diverted back after an indicator warning light came on.

It has been described as a small technical issue.

Passengers were either transferred to the 10.20am service or a special service using the new G-OATR, which will return from Gatwick empty before resuming its schedule.

'We apologise for any inconvenience and thank passengers for their patience,' a spokesperson for the airline said.

Passengers due to fly back form Gatwick were moved to the 11.50am.

Guernsey Airport confirmed a precautionary standby was called shortly before 9am this morning following a report received from a departing ATR aircraft.

'As a result of this report airport services were placed on standby.

'The aircraft landed safely at 8:56am and taxied to stand. There are no reported injuries and the aircraft is being checked.

'No external agencies were required to attend in support of the airports response.'
