Weather tears into Condor schedule

CONDOR has published an update regarding its services in the lead-up to Christmas with what it describes as extremely stormy weather set to continue in the English Channel.

Liberation sailings have been cancelled for Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The Rapide will operate this morning as scheduled but Saturday and Sunday's sailings are cancelled, with Monday’s currently under review.

The Clipper and the Goodwill will operate on each of the days but with revised timings.

The company said it had amended, cancelled and added extra departures to help passengers reach their destinations before Christmas and it was working closely with logistics clients to ensure freight requirements are met.

‘The weather over the past couple of weeks has been challenging and unpredictable and our teams are working tirelessly to minimise any disruption and maintain services,’ said Condor chief executive officer Paul Luxon.

‘We are aware that Christmas is a special time for everyone so are publishing this schedule in advance so our passengers and business clients are aware what travel options are available.

‘This has been made more difficult due to a rapidly changing weather situation.

‘We share everyone’s disappointment at the obvious inconvenience and uncertainty caused by this sustained period of atrocious weather.

‘Our crews onboard, operational teams ashore and in contact centres are working extra shifts to revise schedules, rearrange travel and ensure that the islands stay connected and supplied. I would like to thank them for their resilience and determination.’

Condor’s customer contact centre and port teams are notifying passengers and freight clients of the alternative travel options
