Police keen to speak to cyclist who resembles missing man
A CYCLIST who closely resembles missing 29-year-old Matthew Bourgaize was sighted singing loudly on Braye Road, near Alliance, on Sunday 12 January at 2.55pm.
Guernsey Police believe sightings were reported in good faith and are searching for the man, who has also been spotted in other areas, mostly in the north of the island, wearing a long black coat with a fluffy edged hood, grey jogging bottoms and trainers.
In a statement, the Police appealed for the cyclist to come forward.
‘We want to make it absolutely clear they aren’t in trouble, we just need to speak to them so we can eliminate those sightings from our investigation. We are asking them to please either call the Joint Emergency Control Centre (JESCC) on 725111 or visit the Police Station.
‘Their help will be invaluable.’
This is the latest in number of potential sightings, including CCTV footage between Ville Au Roi through the lanes to Croutes Havilland in St Peter Port.
The last confirmed sighting of Mr Bourgaize was on Saturday 11th, where he was spotted turning on Fort Road.
The police once again asked the public to keep a keen eye out for Mr Bourgaize and urged islanders to report anything that might be connected.
‘We once again are asking everyone who reads this to look at the attached picture and contact us with any information you have. Let us decide how valuable your information is, don’t keep it to yourself.’
