The Bella Luce is a four-star boutique hotel, owned by the Wheadon family.

It is currently closed for the winter season, but is due to open again in the spring at the start of April.

The sale is being handled by the residential and commercial property firm Savills.

Originally dating from the 16th Century, the hotel has 23 luxury en suite bedrooms, a spa, outdoor pool area, a dining area for 60 diners and terraces.

On the Savill's website it said: 'The Wheadon’s gin distillery is located on the lower ground floor with traditional copper stills.

'At present the distillery is operated as part of the Hotel.

'In the event of a sale, Wheadon’s Gin would consider leasing the space, providing an income as well as retaining the draw of the distillery.'

Associate director of the Savills Hotels team James Greenslade was quoted saying the sale of the Bella Luce hotel offers a rare opportunity to own an extremely well established hotel in an unrivalled location.

Efforts were made to contact Mr Wheadon but were unsuccessful.
