Education, Sport & Culture is inviting applications for seats from the older members of the community who are either Second World War veterans, were resident in the island during the Occupation or an evacuee.

Supported by Healthspan, the raked seating area will be next to the Guernsey Information Centre along St Peter Port seafront.

Applications for tickets (one per household) can be made by the individual themselves or by a family member or carer on their behalf via email before 14 March. There are two sessions for which seats are available.

The first is to view the parade from 9am until 11am or for the cavalcade which is from 1.30pm until 5pm.

Applicants should email Heidi Sandy at heidi.sandy@mourant.com with the following information: name, date of birth, address, email (of both the applicant and family member/carer).

They must also state whether they need wheelchair space or a seat on the stand, are a blue badge holder or not, a Second World War veteran, resident during the Occupation or an evacuee and also which session they would like to attend.

Those without email can call 739306 for tickets between the following times: Monday to Thursday next week between 5.30 and 7.30pm, Monday 9 March to Friday 13 March between 5.30pm and 7.30pm and Saturday 14 March between 10am and 2pm.

As there are a limited number of seats and wheelchair spaces available, priority will be given to those less mobile.

One family member or carer will be invited to stand alongside the seating area to watch the parade or cavalcade.

Successful applicants will be notified by 20 March and a ticket and parking information will be sent by post.
