Clothes find sparks sea and land search

THE discovery of abandoned clothing sparked a land and sea search on Saturday night.

Shortly after 11, police officers found several items, including spectacles and Wellington boots, in the car park opposite the entrance to Vale Castle.

The St Peter Port lifeboat was launched and carried out a sea search while officers searched the surrounding area.

Nobody could be found and there were no reports of anyone missing at the time.

Officers would like to speak to the owner of the clothes to confirm their safety.
