Sohier Road reopens – Route des Coutures remains closed

WHILE there is good news for users of Sohier Road in the Vale today, there is bad news for those who want to use Route des Coutures.

The former was set to reopen this morning, but the latter will remain closed.

That will mean a change in the previous diversion, so the Route des Coutures diversion will be from Braye Road – Sohier Road – Maraitaine Road – Croix du Bois in both directions, said Traffic and Highway Services.

Route des Coutures has been closed since 4 March following a partial landslip.

Meerveld workmen are continuing work to stabilise the earth bank in the road and it is expected to remain closed at least until Friday.

With the opening of Sohier Road, Belval Road and Rue du Tertre/Tertre Lane will return to two-way traffic.
