It closed initially on Sunday and Monday but the Education, Sport & Culture committee has now extended the closure for the foreseeable future.

The decision was made based on advice from Public Health officials and the States' response to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

ESC has also closed Candie Museum until further notice.

Three other museums, which initially had their opening days postponed are now closed until further notice.

These are Castle Cornet, Fort Grey and the German Naval Signals Head Quarters.

President of ESC Deputy Matt Fallaize thanked staff who had been very committed to keeping Beau Sejour and Candie Museum open.

'We knew that we would have to close our facilities and attractions as the picture around coronavirus developed and Public Health advice evolved and this is the right time to close them to the public for the foreseeable future.

'Our customers have been very patient and understand, for which we thank them, and we look forward to welcoming them back to Beau Sejour and the museums as soon as it is safe to reopen.'
