It concerns the development of the 12.43-acre site bound by the Bridge, Nocq Road, Lowlands Road and the northern industrial estate.

A copy of the draft development framework is on display at the former Smilers retail unit on South Side, The Bridge.

‘The DDF is designed to provide planning guidance for the mixed use development of the Leale’s Yard Regeneration Area with comprehensive and practical guidance on how policies in the Island Development Plan will be applied to the site,’ a Development & Planning Authority spokesperson said.

‘Once approved, it will become Supplementary Planning Guidance and will be taken into account when considering planning applications on any part of LYRA. Any proposals for development will be expected to align with it.’

Once approved by DPA any developments must meet requirements set out in this framework.

‘Members of the public are encouraged to have their say so that all views can be taken into account when the final version of the Development Framework is considered by the Development & Planning Authority for adoption in April this year,’ the DPA spokesperson said.

Plans include proposals to reduce or remove parking spaces on the Bridge, which has met significant opposition already.

The framework is available online at www.gov.gg/developmentframeworks and is still on display at the former Smilers unit on the Bridge until Friday.

. Feedback should be sent to planning@gov.gg or to the Planning Service, Sir Charles Frossard House, St Peter Port, GY1 1FH.
