PARKING zone time limits are temporarily suspended to ease some anxiety for islanders who need to park their car in public spaces while the island is in lock down.

Guernsey Police have assured islanders that, while cars still need to be parked legally i.e not on yellow lines or waiting areas, you do not need to worry about putting your parking disk clock up.

'Pressure on parking infrastructure, especially in our more built up areas of St Peter Port is likely to be immense,' a spokesperson said.

'This means you might not be able to park in your preferred place, can you leave your car at your work, a colleagues or friends house?'

The public car parks will be available to park in without time restriction as they are disc zones.

Beau Sejour is also available.

Islanders are reminded to take valuables and anything else necessary from the car when it is parked, and to lock up.
