Guernsey Police received a call about the one-vehicle incident in the car park off Le Parcq Lane at 8.25pm.

Both the Guernsey Fire and Rescue Service and the Emergency Ambulance Service attended, too.

'A person who we believe to be the driver has been taken to hospital for medical treatment,' PC 103 Bulpitt said.

'The ambulance and fire crew came away from the scene shortly after arriving.'

Further enquiries will take place to establish what happened in the car park for the vehicle to end up half way down the rocks.

Police ensured the vehicle was secure but with the tide coming in at the time, arrangements were made for the vehicle to be recovered from the rocks and taken away from the scene that evening.

PC Bulpitt said at the time it was believed there was only one person and one vehicle involved in the incident.
