Pair launch wellbeing guide the Better app
A NEW wellbeing app developed by two islanders is going global.
The Better app has been launched on the Apple and Google app stores.
Talks are also under way with major brands to develop their own versions for customers and staff, according to the Better App company.
‘There are clear and proven benefits for the user – better sleep, better emotional health, better and deeper understanding of the human needs we all
have, better physical wellbeing – in brief, how to design and
build a better life,’ said psychotherapist John Halker, who co-founded the company with experienced marketeer Peter Grange.
‘Better is loaded with rich content, supporting the user to find their higher brain, their thinking mind, to settle easily into a relaxed state, to understand healthy and sustainable ways in which their needs can be met, and to sleep brilliantly well, once they know how.’
Mr Grange said: ‘Mental health is top of many businesses’ agenda. $1tn is lost world-wide in productivity because of mental health issues, so as well as employers acting responsibly, there is a commercial aspect, too.’
The Better App Company will be donating 10% of profits from the Better app to mental health charities all over the world. Translated versions in Spanish, Italian and Chinese will be launched soon.
The launch of the Better app follows on from the Better Stop Suicide app launched globally last year.
The free app’s aim was simple – to help people press their own pause button should suicidal thoughts come to them, thus buying time to get further help and support.
Since being launched, it has been used by tens of thousands of people around the world and saved lives.
