But 2019 will have been the last time, as Graham and Linda Dorey have confirmed that they are retiring from growing.

The Kings Mills farm would usually produce hundreds of pumpkins.

The couple said they decided that now was the best time to make the announcement.

‘Although it involves a great deal of hard work, we have thoroughly enjoyed providing this experience for our customers,’ they said.

‘We decided to do this at the end of last season and had not placed our usual seed order at the beginning of this year.

Now that the coronavirus crisis has occurred, we are satisfied that we have made the right decision.

‘We have been growing pumpkins for over twenty years and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their loyal custom and enthusiasm when the visiting Brooklands Farm to choose their pumpkins.’
