Health & Social Care president Heidi Soulsby made the announcement this lunchtime.

'We should all be proud of what we have achieved,' she said.

She said that from 20 June the new Bailiwick bubble would be created. This would mean that all restrictions on social gathering will be lifted, businesses will be able to fully reopen and there will be no more queuing to enter shops.

There will still be self-isolation restrictions, which will affect people arriving into the island.

The local Black Lives Matter group had planned to hold a gathering this weekend, which would have breached the rules for no more than 30 people to gather in one place. Today's press conference confirmed that this has been delayed to 20 June, so that it would not breach the rules.

More details will be published soon.
