On Monday 7 September, the States of Guernsey announced a new case of the virus had been identified in Guernsey after the patient travelled to the island from the UK.

They went straight into isolation and their positive result was picked up on their day-seven test.

Director of Public Health Dr Nicola Brink stressed that there was no wider risk to the general public.

Now, the States have announced that there are no new or known active cases of Covid-19 in the Bailiwick.

The number of those who have recovered from the virus on the gov.gg website has also increased by one.

In total, 13,289 samples have been taken, identifying 253 positive cases.

239 of those recovered.

All but one of the positive cases were from the 'first wave' of the virus.

Recovery is defined as ‘having no virus detectable on their nose / throat swab on day 14 or later if a person is still symptomatic on day 14.’
