Four new public defibrillators

FOUR new public access defibrillators have been installed around the island.

Guernsey Electricity covered the cost of the electrical installations and also fitted the defibrillator boxes free of charge.

The four boxes that were provided by Maersk Drilling and were fitted at Morrisons at L’Islet, Arrowsmith Marlowe at St Peter’s, Elizabeth College and St John’s Church Hall, Les Amballes. CAG community resuscitation development officer Mike Froome will be responsible for providing free CPR & AED training and supporting the defibrillator sites and their guardians.

Morrisons’ store manager Robin Gilbey will be guardian for the L’Islet site.

‘We are extremely grateful to all the companies and people who have made the installation of these new Pads a reality,’ said CAG’s Gerry Le Roy. ‘There are now over 50 public defibrillators across the island and the Guernsey public will be safer with a further four accessible 24 hours a day.’
