Sweeping across the UK today, tomorrow and Thursday, it is expected to bring with it strong winds, widespread flooding and snowfall.

A Guernsey Met Office spokesperson explained: 'Storm Christoph has been named by the UK Met Office because of the amount of rainfall that will be falling in parts of the UK, particularly the North West where up to 200mm could fall over the course of a couple of days.
