The force unveiled their new look over the weekend, after the public were strongly advised to wear face coverings when they leave their home.

A Guernsey Police spokesperson said they had purchased a range of PPE equipment at the start of the first island-wide lockdown in the Bailiwick in 2020.

‘It has maintained suitable stocks of all of this equipment since, and is confident going into the second lockdown that there is enough to maintain service delivery,’ they said.

‘Officers will be wearing face coverings at all times, whether on patrol or at police headquarters. Face shields are also available to officers, should they be required. A dynamic risk assessment will be carried out for each incident, and the officers attending will wear the appropriate PPE depending on circumstances.’

Front-line Bailiwick Law Enforcement officers occasionally attend incidents where they will need to break the two-metre social distancing requirements.

‘Therefore a full range of PPE has been made available to them, in addition to standard face coverings,’ the spokesperson said.
