While it is getting cooler, due to a low pressure system currently over the UK and moving south, temperatures should stay above freezing.

Scattered winter showers may be seen locally before temperatures rise again, heralding the return of wet and windy weather.

'This feature will become centred over the Low Countries by the end of Sunday, and with high pressure over Norway a cold northeasterly flow of Siberian origin will see daytime air temperatures locally around 4/5°C on Monday,' the Guernsey Met Office duty observer said.

'The bulk of any snowfall will likely be across eastern and central parts of the UK, with probably just a scattering of wintry showers locally.'

'Looking ahead, it appears temperatures will slowly rise through the rest of the week as milder Atlantic air pushes in from the west, so likely a return to wet and windy conditions with temperatures rising to double figures once more for the second half of next week.'
