Venue change for health staff to have second jab
BEAU SEJOUR will be bustling from today with around 1,000 health care staff having their second Covid-19 vaccination at the community vaccination hub.
It had been planned that they would get their second doses at the Emma Ferbrache Room at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital but that facility was shut down at the start of the latest outbreak because it was not set up for social distancing – plus non-essential visits to the hospital are meant to be minimised during lockdown.
So the front line workers from Health & Social Care and a number of health and care institutions, including the Medical Specialist Group, GP surgeries, pharmacies, St John Ambulance and other charities, are due to have their second dose at Beau Sejour between today and Sunday 14 February.
The date and time of appointments are the same, the only the change is the venue.
This will be done alongside the appointments for older islanders who are still getting their first jabs.
More than 8,400 vaccine doses had been given as of last Friday and vaccinations for older islanders have been continuing at pace this week.
There can be a gap of up to six weeks between vaccine doses.
Vaccine arrangements
Health and care workers attending Beau Sejour for their second-dose vaccination appointment should enter via the main entrance and advise the welcome staff that they are there for the health care clinic. They will then be directed to a separate reception desk.
Today, those who got their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on 15 January will be getting their second.

If a health or care worker is unable to make their scheduled appointment, or has forgotten their appointment time, they should email covidvaccine@gov.gg, giving personal details, contact details, appointment time (if known) and the vaccine they are due to receive.
