WATCH: Garage fire in Rohais de Bas on Saturday
FIREFIGHTERS were called to a big garage blaze on Saturday evening.
Two water tenders and a rapid intervention vehicle were called to the property on Rohais de Bas at about 5pm.
Blue Watch commander Gary Sargent said the structure, which was behind a property on the main road, was well alight when they arrived.
Former politician Barry Brehaut caught the flames on camera and shared the footage on his Facebook page.
They started by protecting the main house, before going in to tackle the fire. Four firefighters used breathing apparatus.
The garage contained two cars, as well as an LPG cylinder and other flammable items.
It took some time to get the fire under control and the crew hen stayed on the scene for more than hour, damping down the structure. The Rohais de Bas was closed throughout the incident.
Mr Sargent said they believed there were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
