Multiple vehicles that were parked on the road sustained damage between 3am and 4am on Sunday 7 February.

A spokesperson from Bailiwick Law Enforcement said due to the current restrictions, minimal traffic and the time of night, the noise from the suspect striking multiple vehicle wing mirrors caused a number of residents to wake and try and ascertain what was causing the noise.

'Police are in the process of obtaining witness statements and reviewing both private and commercial CCTV opportunities of which there appears to be many.'

They are keen to speak to anyone with information concerning the 'reckless damage' and have urged anyone with CCTV in the area to get in contact so officers can check the footage.

Although an arrest has been made, Police are still keen to speak to anyone with information.

A resident of the road said this was not an isolated incident.

'The same thing happened in 2005 and the wing mirrors of my wife's car were damaged,' he said.

'And it has happened again more recently than that.'

He said he heard a noise in the middle of the night but only realised what it was in the morning when he walked down the road.

'It's totally unnecessary,' he said. 'You have to wonder what the mentality of the people who do this kind of thing is.

'Normally things like this happen when people come out of the pubs and are a bit rowdy.'

When law enforcement posted about the incident on Facebook appealing for information, one islander posted a link to CCTV footage where the person can be seen walking up the road and jumping to kick one of the wing mirrors of a car.

They had a guitar case on their back.
