Islanders able to reflect on the pandemic
A TWO-MINUTE silence is being held this morning to mark a year since the start of the pandemic.
It has been instigated by the Princess Elizabeth Hospital chaplaincy team and aims to encourage people to think about those who have died, those who have been unwell or are still unwell, and those who have suffered in other ways.
PEH chaplain the Rev. Linda Le Vasseur said: ‘Each of us will have our own experience of what this time has meant for us and our families. We have all been affected by this virus and the restrictions that have been imposed to keep us all safe.
‘Whilst we cannot invite others to attend this event due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, if you are working at home, you may wish to stop and remember in your own way. Others, if they wish, may mark it in their workplace.’
The silence will be observed at 11am.
