The machines belong to the members of the Vintage and Classic Tractor Club, and club chairman Ron Le Cras said this was its 11th year staging an event at Saumarez Park.

Among the young tractor lovers was six-year-old Olivia Mollett.

‘I like tractors because they make different sounds,’ she said.

‘My favourite is the blue one, because it’s my favourite colour.’

Outgoing museum manager Merrie Jee said the event was a great way to raise awareness of the museum and encourage people to visit.

The tractors left the museum at 10.30am and drove along the coast and up to the Occupation Museum.

The event was raising money for St John Ambulance through donations. The club is also organising an annual show, which will take place on 31 July and 1 August. More details will be released in due course.
