The results were taken at the outfall.

Seawater samples taken showed that it was solely the area at the outfall that had the issue.

‘Environmental Health has undertaken extensive investigations upstream and in nearby roads to try to track the source of pollution and nearby landowners have been contacted and provided information in relation to land use,’ said a spokesman for Agricultural, Countryside Land Management Services.

‘To date there is no conclusive information to identify the source of the problem.’

Poor standards have I.enterococci levels above 200 in 100ml of water and E.coli will be above 500 in 100ml of water.

. If any members of the public have information on possible sources they are advised to contact the Office of Environmental Health and Pollution Regulation by emailing envhealth@gov.gg or calling 221161.
