Guernsey Friends of Airsearch president David Hugo said 363 runners took part.

At 10pm they had a safety briefing, and the run itself started shortly after.

The run was not a race and runners took between 15 and 45 minutes to complete the route.

‘It was a really good night,’ he said.

Claire Pannenborg, 42, had done the run before, and invited her mum Pam Chalker and aunt Nancy Ozanne to take part this weekend.

‘It’s just a really different place to run,’ she said. ‘There is actually quite a slope. You think it’s flat, but it’s really not.’

The run was sponsored by accountancy firm BDO. Managing director Richard Searle said the firm had signed an initial three-year sponsorship deal and 24 members of staff took part in the run.

For the first time the event used the Race Nation platform to co-ordinate the fundraising and Mr Hugo said that had worked well.
