The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride group saw 23 registered bike riders take part, doing a couple of circuits of the northern island at the weekend.

DGR was founded in Sydney and aims to unites classic and vintage style motorcycle riders all over the world to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health.

The event is celebrating ten years and almost £20m.-worth of donations. This was the first time an event has been help in Alderney and many of the bikers had never before had the opportunity to join a parade of this nature.

Organiser Ali Simmons said as well as raising lots of sponsorship funds for the charity, everyone really enjoyed what will probably become an annual event.

Prostate Cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in men and this parade is described by DGR as 'riding for mens’ health'. Funds raised are channelled through a group called ‘Movember’ which is the largest funder of prostate cancer research in the world.
