Question marks had been raised over the future of the kiosk as disruption to its operation was expected to be caused by the proposed work on the L’Ancresse wall.

But changes to those plans meant that the hunt began for a new kiosk tenant a few weeks ago.

A States’ Property Services spokeswoman said that the kiosk’s operation would not be disrupted by any maintenance works that go ahead on the wall. Limited works were required to return the kiosk to an operational state, with the States responsible for maintaining the exterior of the premises and the incoming tenant responsible for interior elements.

The States’ spokeswoman said that they would work with the new operator to enable the kiosk to open for the summer season.

Property Services confirmed that the tender process for the kiosk has concluded and that an operator has been selected.

While the precise details of the agreement, including a potential opening date, remain under discussion, it is the intention of all involved parties that the kiosk will be open as soon as possible and be ready for the height of the summer season.
