It is the first time that Guernsey has recorded a death since the end of the second wave.

There are 45 known active cases of the infection in the Bailiwick, which includes one person who is being cared for in the hospital.

In Guernsey, there are 39 known active cases, four of which are regarded as community cases, and the others are all associated with travel or contacts of positive cases.

Alderney has five cases, and Sark has one.

Six new cases were recorded yesterday and six people were classed as recovered yesterday after giving negative test results.

There were 86 people in isolation because they were contacts of a positive case, which excludes people who are in self-isolation as a result of inbound travel.
