Kay Lowe nominated Julie for her work in the Specsavers hearing team.

Julie has been working at Specsavers as a hearing aid audiologist for 27 years.

Mrs Lowe said: ‘Since deciding that I needed hearing aids, Julie has answered my numerous questions, been patient when I asked for a different type of device and been there every time I have a query or a problem.’

She added: ‘Julie and the hearing team at Specsavers have transformed my life.’

When asked about her job, Julie said: ‘I love my job. It is very satisfying when you can help someone who has been struggling for a while and make their life better.’

Specsavers co-founder Dame Mary Perkins said: ‘Julie is one of the most caring people I have ever met. Having hearing problems in later life, or any time in life, can be very isolating. Julie always “goes that extra mile”, even visiting people in their home if mobility is a problem.

‘With so much communication at the moment on screen, it has become more important to be able to hear clearly, so she has been much in demand.

‘She has made a positive difference changing lives through better hearing, with great compassion and her expertise to help her customers feel good and cared for.’
