Karl’s friend and nominator Matthew Hale said: ‘Karl deserves this reward because despite his disabilities he puts a smile on everyone’s face, he does a lot for charity and he is currently raising money. He thinks of others ahead of himself. I think he deserves this because he is just a very loved, very down to earth guy.’

Karl, 40, is currently raising money for Active, a local charity which helps people with learning disabilities.

He has raised £1,578 so far, aiming for enough money to buy the charity a new van.

Mr Enticott said: ‘I do these kinds of things to keep myself motivated. It is also something to look forward to.’

Mr Enticott regularly raises money through swimmarathons with a sports club that he attends with Mr Hale.

The most money he has ever raised was five years ago – just under £4,000 in one swimmarathon.

He has also recently completed a walk from the Imperial Hotel to Pembroke with his girlfriend Beth for charity.

Mr Enticott also works at the GO Charity shop when he is not completing charity walks.
