The Channel Islands’ longest-running music festival is taking place at Vale Castle at the end of the month.

After an uncertain summer last year for organisers, the festival was still able to go ahead in 2020 with all tickets selling out.

The collective which organises the event has bounced back with two headlining acts instead of one this year on Sunday 29 August.

‘It’s a one-off, really, and a celebration,’ said collective member Rob Roussel.

The Nextmen are a singer, songwriting and DJ duo incorporating hop-hop, pop and indie sounds into their music.

They have performed at countless different festivals, including Glastonbury and Bestival, and have written multi-platinum releases for several artists including Plan B and Sam Smith.

To close the day, Ruts DC, pictured, originally known as The Ruts, will head to the Castle Stage.

The reggae-influenced British punk rock band formed in 1977 at the height of the punk revolution and have performed at Rebellion festival and toured worldwide.

‘We’re excited to have some high profile UK acts over again,’ said Mr Roussel.

Acts will be taking place across six different stages and returning Channel Islands acts The Bensons, Watercolour Matchbox and Jersey’s Dribbler are among those performing. The event will have the usual activities and amenities available, including a kids area, various food stalls and a bar.
