Time to release your inner geek
THE BIG GEEKEND celebrating eclectic and diverse interests begins tomorrow.
The annual event involves an array of activities including metal detecting, cosplay, learning origami and war gaming.
‘The Geekend is about bringing together people who are passionate about their interest or collections,’ said Jo Dowding, access and learning manager at Guernsey Museum, which is hosting the weekend.
Most of the attractions will take place indoors, but some will be able to showcase their hobbies in the outdoor space.
Other events include Morris dancing, model trains and a Pokemon talk from Just Games manager Stuart Lean on Sunday morning, which is suitable for all ages.
‘It’s about embracing what is diverse and eclectic and thinking, wow, I didn’t know that,’ said Miss Dowding.
. The event takes place from 10am to 4pm tomorrow and Sunday at the Guernsey Museum in Candie Gardens.
Without a Discovery Pass, the prices are £6.50 for adults, £2 for students or children aged 7-17 and under 7s are free.
