Blonde Hedgehog hotel launches a new boat service
A NEW Alderney boat owned by a sister company to The Blonde Hedgehog hotel is due to set sail next week.
The Salty Blonde will offer scheduled boat services between Alderney and Guernsey with space for eight passengers on board.
The vessel will make two journeys, five days a week, until late December, before the service starts again in April and will be available to everyone, not just guests of The Blonde Hedgehog.
Skipper Mark Williams said The Salty Blonde was delighted to offer this additional island service and said the vessel, 'Ashlin The Salty Blonde', was ideal for island waters.
‘The Stormforce 11 is a fantastic vessel, perfect for these waters as it has deep V hull form, which is one of the reasons it has such fantastic abilities in rough offshore conditions,’ he said.
‘Another big feature of the Stormforce 11 is the hard nose, which is primarily a safety feature where the nose is designed to offer complete protection to the tubes when operating in choppy conditions.
‘Coupled with two independent tubes on each side of the hull, offering even greater safety, the boat is the perfect choice for these waters.’
The boat has a cruising speed of 26 knots and it is expected to sail to Guernsey from Alderney in less than an hour.
It will also be available for private charter, corporate events, weddings, and for scattering ashes at sea as well as hoping to offer voyages to Lymington in the UK, Jersey and France, in addition to the bailiwick islands, from April 2022.
