The talk, Covid Conversations Part Two – The Truth Revealed, will be going ahead on Monday 15 November 7-9pm at St Pierre Park, which has a 400 capacity.

It will offer different perspectives of the pandemic, exploring topics such as censorship, vaccinations, and societal divides.

‘It is a very interesting thing to look at the conversations coming out of this,’ said organiser Laura Anderson.

‘It has allowed discussion, which is incredibly healthy.’

The organisers had attempted to build on the success of a first talk, which was standing-room only at Les Cotils, by moving to the Performing Arts Centre. But it was stopped by the Education, Sport & Culture Committee.

Ms Anderson said: ‘It was very straightforward to book St Pierre Park. There were absolutely no problems.’

But the cost of staging the talk at the new venue is almost £3,000, compared to just £500 for the tech-equipped Performing Arts Centre. CIIHA has already received £1,000 in donations for the event.

‘We hope more generosity will be coming our way because this talk is something that needs to happen,’ Ms Anderson said.

‘The intention is for people to come and listen. It’s all about freedom of speech and understanding there are many different sides to something so complex.’

The first talk, held at Les Cotils, was live-streamed and viewed by 2,000 people, and the second talk will also be available online. Guest speakers include UK paediatrician Dr Ros Jones. who intends to attend in person, Reform UK Party leader Richard Tice, and Nick Hudson from Panda who spoke last time in a question and answer session.

Ms Anderson hoped to see more deputies attending and has also invited Dr Nicola Brink and Dr Peter Rabey.

‘Nobody is going to stop me at this point from shouting on a mountain about this – the elephant in the room is getting larger by the day,’ she said.

‘We are stepping away from being free and moving towards totalitarianism.’
