The property owned by their parents in Les Tracheries, St Sampson’s, will be open to the public today, tomorrow and Sunday from 5pm-8pm.

The siblings have been hosting the event for eight years in Guernsey and the UK to raise money through donations for Guernsey Alzheimer’s.

After this Halloween, they are closing the doors as the house will be rented out next year.

‘I have mixed emotions,’ Mrs Duport said.

‘It takes up a lot of time but it’s for a good cause, so it’s worth it.’

The pair are now selling what Mrs Duport said was thousands of pounds-worth of decorations to a local buyer.

‘To see it go we are sad but happy because now we can pass it on to someone else to enjoy,’ Mr Skipton added.

‘It’s been fun doing it and lovely meeting people.’

Mr Skipton said he began transforming the house at the beginning of the month.

‘It has just been a few hours here and a few hours there.’

They invite people of all ages to brave the house at L’Islet, but said it may be too scary for younger children, who can instead complete a hunt for little witches.

‘I try to encourage people to come,’ Mrs Duport added.

She said she could arrange separate times for people or groups to visit. GreenAcres residents are visiting the house today.

‘People can contact me for private bookings and I can open up the doors for them.’

A total of £3,000 was raised for Guernsey Alzheimer’s last year.

‘We are hoping to raise the same again,’ Mrs Duport said.

‘Over 1,000 people came last year.’

People can wear a mask if they want to and everyone must bring a piece of paper detailing their name, contact number, date and time of arrival. People have been asked to take a lateral flow test before arriving.

Parking will be available at the Fort Complex next door. Contact Ms Duport to donate or request a private viewing: email debbie.duport@cwgsy.net or 07781 110518.
